Eat This: Chocolate Studio at Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival

You can find all of the F&W menu boards as well as links to the ones I’ve reviewed so far right HERE.

We’ve been over-indulging in savory stuff today and now it’s time to focus on some chocolate. And where better to do that than the Chocolate Studio?

You’ll find the Chocolate Studio near the Wine & Dine and Cheese Studios on the path between the artist formerly known as Future World (near Imagination) and the Canada side of World Showcase.

Like last year, it offers up two food items and a short list of drinks. And they are all, of course, sweet.

  • Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey-Caramel (gluten/wheat-friendly and DDP snack credit eligible) ($5.25)

This is once again neck-in-neck with the Chocolate Picante from Flavors from Fire as the favorite festival dessert. If you’ve ever had a Fudgie the Whale from Carvel, it’s sort of a high end version of that perfect texture. Somehow not overly sweet – it’s light, creamy, flash-frozen in liquid nitro chocolate almond truffle with a drizzle of caramel. Even for a person like me that’s not overly obsessed with chocolate, this is excellent.

  • Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart with Whipped Cream (kid-approved and DDP snack credit eligible) ($4.25)

I’d go with the liquid nitro 100 times over this one. It’s fine – and someone chocolate obsessed would probably like it much more than me – but otherwise it’s just a very dense (and, in all honesty, slightly dry on a bad day) brick of chocolate with raspberry sauce, fresh raspberries, and whipped cream. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not bad. But if you’re choosing one, choose the liquid nitro.

  • Twinings® Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Frozen Cocktail with Caramel Vodka ($11.00) (also available without alcohol for a kid-approved $5.00)

This is delicious. It’s a creamy spiked (or not, if you choose the kid-friendly version) milkshake. The chocolate isn’t overpowering because it’s cut by the pumpkin spice chai. Definitely a high calorie drink option, but it doubles as a dessert, so hey, why not.

And that’s a wrap for the Chocolate Studio!
