Disney announced today that the Annual Passholder previews for Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge will be during select times from August 17th to August 21st. As previously announced, previews will only be available to Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier Passholders.
Now that these dates have been announced, I expect that the email will be coming very soon, so watch your inboxes!!
It’s interesting that these previews are taking place immediately before the D23 Expo in Anaheim. No doubt many of us would have visited Galaxy’s Edge in Disney Land while we were out there if we hadn’t yet been to Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World…and the new land would have felt like old news by the time we got back. Regardless of how much this motivated the timing, it was smart of Disney to get these previews in before many of us made our way to California.
According to Disney’s announcement, previews will (time permitting) include the chance to experience the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction, explore the land itself and its merchandise, and try Batuu’s food and drinks. Passholders will also have the opportunity, subject to capacity, to register for either a visit to Oga’s Cantina for libations or Savi’s Workshop to build a custom lightsaber for $199.99+tax. The announcement also mentions that Oga’s Cantina will be mostly standing room with limited seating. Seating is not guaranteed upon entry and separate parties may be seated together. At Savi’s Workshop, admittance will be limited to a builder and one guest, at least one of which much be at least 14 years old. Custom lightsabers will not be eligible for Annual Passholder or other discounts.
Event capacity is limited and spots are definitely going to go fast, so definitely keep a close eye on your email over the coming days!!
