Off the Beaten Path: The NBA Experience at Disney Springs

The NBA Experience at Disney Springs opened earlier this year – but I hadn’t yet had the chance to check it out with my family, so I was so grateful when Disney was kind enough to invite us to spend some time there this weekend!

You’ll find the NBA Experience in the old Disney Quest building near House of Blues and Cirque du Soleil in Disney Springs, just past Splitsville and the AMC theater. It was a great option for us to check out this past Saturday while it was raining all day outside – and the kids had lots of energy to burn off!!

Entry is $34+tax for adults and $29+tax for kids ages 3-9. With your pass in hand you can come and go as you please all day – so it’s easy to check in, play for awhile, leave to have something to eat, and then return later in the day.

We loved that you could personalize your experience by creating an avatar before heading in – we entered our names, skill levels (beginners all around for us!), favorite team, and chosen nickname. Then we headed in to check it out!

My kids had lots of fun with the photo ops – including PhotoPass stations, video simulations, and private shooting areas. They tried their hand at trivia and met a few familiar faces. But their very favorite thing was the slingshot game, where they could compete against each other and other guests, firing basketballs slingshot-style into baskets a distance away.

This was definitely a new option for us for a rainy day or other break from the parks. And we had fun together even though we aren’t basketball people!
