Ah, Belgium. Home of waffles and beer.
You’ll find this booth in World Showcase, nestled next to Brazil between the France and Morocco pavilions.
This year they have 3 food items – one savory and two sweet – and lots of drinks.
We ate ours off a trash can like any respectable local would.
- Beer-braised Beef with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes (DDP snack credit eligible) ($5.50)
This is SO much better than I expected it to be. I’m now convinced that mashed potatoes were meant to be made with smoked gouda. And the stew itself is great. Definitely up there with the venison stew at The Alps booth as one of the best at Food & Wine.
- Golden Malted® Belgian Waffle with Warm Chocolate Ganache and Whipped Cream (vegetarian, kid-approved, DDP snack credit eligible) ($4.25)
This is a Belgian waffle with warm chocolate and whipped cream, so you don’t need my review to know that it tastes good. If you’re in the mood for one, go get it.
- Golden Malted® Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream (vegetarian, kid-approved, DDP snack credit eligible) ($4.25)
See above. This is good stuff. (And my personal favorite over the chocolate, for what it’s worth. Totally personal preference.)
- Chilled Coffee featuring Godiva Chocolate Liqueur ($11.00)
The only issue with this drink is that it goes down way too easily. My husband doesn’t even like coffee and he was into it.
We might be back…but for now?
Belgium? Check!
