We’ve all just received the much expected news that runDisney’s Wine & Dine Race Weekend has been cancelled. Runners can opt for a full refund or, if they have a valid U.S. shipping address, a virtual. If opting for the virtual, you’ll have to let Disney know by August 5, 2020.
Those opting for the virtual will receive the following:
- Race distance medal(s)
- Runner long sleeve shirt(s) and kids short sleeve shirt(s)
- Digital Bib and finisher certificate
- Digital Toolkit including start/finish line and mile markers
- Digital Goody Bag
- Virtual playlist
- A Disney Gift Card in the following amounts:

- Two Course Challenge – $100
- Half Marathon – $90
- 10K – $30
- 5K – $10
So which should you do?
On its face it’s likely an easy choice for most. Even taking the gift cards into account, this is a pricey virtual. If this race is a symbolic one for you, you might want to run it any way you can. If not, you’re likely to opt out – especially in today’s economic climate.
That said, before you pull the trigger on your refund, it’s worth at least checking out the swag for what was going to be one of the coolest themed race weekends we’d seen in awhile. Because Wine & Dine – which had seemed a little lacking-in-identity ever since it stopped being a night race years ago – was getting a wicked overlay this year.
