You can find the Australia booth near Port of Entry at the “top” of World Showcase this year. It again has three food options – two savory and one sweet.
- Grilled Sweet-and-Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp with Pineapple, Pepper, Onion, and Snap Peas (gluten/wheat-friendly, DDP snack credit eligible) ($6.00)
This is once again a pretty safe, tasty little dish. More “Disney spicy” than actually spicy, it has a little kick and the sweetness of the pineapple to balance it out. The shrimp is cooked well and the veggies are nice and crisp. Nothing earth shattering – but it was good the last few years and it’s still good this year.
- Roasted Lamb Chop with Sweet Potato Purée, Bushberry Pea Salad, and Pistachio-Pomegranate Gremolata (gluten/wheat-friendly, DDP snack credit eligible) ($7.75)
I’m a little sad (to say the least) that they dropped the mint pesto this year – but this is still an awesome dish and my recommendation for if you’re only getting one thing at this booth. And the presentation is one of the best I’ve seen at Food and Wine so far this year. Love the pop of taste and color from the sweet potato pureée and pomegranite seeds. And most importantly, the lamb is done perfectly. I’m really picky about meat textures and this isn’t fatty or gamey at all.
- Deconstructed Pavlova with Pastry Cream, Citrus-macerated Berries, and Lemon Myrtle Meringue (gluten/wheat-friendly, vegetarian, kid-approved, DDP snack credit eligible) ($4.00)
I kinda miss the lamington – even if it was basically chocolate covered yellow cake. This deconstructed pavlova poses nicely for a picture but unfortunately just tasted like berries and pudding at the end of the day. I’d stick with the savory options at this booth and grab an awesome dessert to round it out elsewhere.
And that’s a wrap!!
