SPACESHIP EARTH REFURBISHMENT POSTPONED: Update on Attraction Openings at Walt Disney World

Disney Parks Blog has shared new details about the attractions and entertainment guests will be able to experience when they return to the parks in July.

Most attractions will reportedly be available at each park. In Hollywood Studios, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will thankfully be up and running.

At Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean will be open as well.

Perhaps most notably to many of us, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT will also continue to be available in its current state as Disney has opted to pause on its planned refurbishment. Soarin’ Around the World, Frozen Ever After and Test Track will be available as well.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and Avatar Flight of Passage will be up and running

Characters will also appear in new and different ways throughout the parks. From special cavalcades down the Magic Kingdom Park parade route and friends sailing the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom (how fun does that sound??), to processions along the World Showcase promenade at EPCOT and motorcades on Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Hollywood Boulevard, each area will come to life with characters throughout the day. It sounds like these will be largely unscheduled, which should make for some fun surprises throughout the day.

Several musical groups will also return to the parks. You can look forward to seeing Main Street Philharmonic at Magic Kingdom Park, plus the Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors at EPCOT.

Plenty of attractions aren’t mentioned in this latest Disney Parks Blog post – and whether that means that many other things won’t be opened stands to tell. I’d venture to say that the focus here is on assuring us that the key attractions at each park *will* be up and running on those first days.
