Few things are more iconic Disney Christmas than the incredible gingerbread houses that have come to be a tradition throughout the Walt Disney World property. We love watching their construction each year and always have a difficult time picking a favorite.
And so it is with great excitement that I share our pictures, in no particular order, of the gorgeous gingerbread houses of Walt Disney World this holiday season.
Have you seen them for yourself? Check out our list below and then tell me which one is *your* favorite!!
- The Contemporary’s Mary Blair-Inspired Cinderella Castle
I adore how the Contemporary embraces its Mary Blair-inspired style with this beautiful Cinderella Castle. 437 jars of honey, 1001 lbs of flour, 156 lbs of dark modeling chocolate, and more make up this 17 1/2 foot tall masterpiece that took 39 Contemporary Bakery Cast Members more than 11 days to assemble. Take it all in while you search for its 18 hidden Mickeys.
- The Capitol and National Mall at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot
Isn’t this extraordinary? The U.S. Capitol building, reflecting pool, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument stand proud just behind where Voices of Liberty perform in The American Adventure pavilion. Search for its 6 hidden Mickeys while you take it all in.
- The Boardwalk’s Self Portait in Gingerbread
If you love the Boardwalk as much as we do, you’re going to adore the Boardwalk’s yearly recreation of…itself!! The detail in this is amazing. Take some time to explore the nooks and crannies of the Boardwalk Bakery, gazebo, Flying Fish, ESPN Zone, and Trattoria…and then take advantage of the opportunity to create your own masterpiece with up to 4 friends with the guidance of Boardwalk’s pastry chef team for just $125!!
- The Beach Club’s Magnificent Working Carousel
What makes this masterpiece all the more extraordinary is that it actually works. You can watch it turn in the lobby of Beach Club each year while you pick your favorite horse and track down its 19 hidden Mickeys.
- The Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House
There aren’t many things that we look forward to each year more than when the smell of Gingerbread takes over the Grand Floridian lobby. This house celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with 1050 lbs of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 lbs of powdered sugar, 800 lbs of flour, and so much more. And if you walk around back, the house houses an actual gift shop where you can buy your own gingerbread shingle to take home.
