Stop the presses. This booth knocked it out of the park this year.
The Morocco booth is outside of the Morocco pavilion in World Showcase and has three food times – two savory and one sweet – and a number of drink options.
- NY Strip Steak Green Shermoula Flatbread with fresh Radish and Tomato Salsa (DDP snack credit eligible) ($9.00)
Just – wow. Wow. This is really good. It’s simple – just great steak and flatbread and fresh radish and tomato salsa – but it doesn’t need to be any more complicated. It’s exactly what I want when I think of Moroccan food and I cannot wait to get it again.
- Spicy Hummus Fries with Cucumber, Tomatoes, Onions, Tzatziki, and Chipotle Sauce (vegetarian, DDP snack credit eligible) ($8.00)
These have been a festival staple for a few years now but this is honestly the first time I’ve loved them. They’re bigger this year – so the inner hummus has a higher ratio to the lightly fried outside. And it’s covered in cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, tzatziki, and chipotle sauce that cuts the richness. So, so good.
- Chocolate Baklava: Rolled Phyllo Dough with Toasted Almonds and Dark Chocolate Sauce (vegetarian, DDP snack credit eligible) ($4.50)
This is a richer dessert than I’d normally enjoy but it’s really well done. The chocolate isn’t too heavy and the almonds are a nice touch. It might just be in my top desserts for this Festival.
- Mimosa Royale: Sparkling Wine and Orange Juice topped with Orange Liqueur ($9.00)
This is a lovely little mimosa and a great option if you don’t go for the sweetness of most of the Festival drinks. At $9 it’s as pricey as any Festival drink – but I honestly don’t begrudge the drink prices at Epcot if they cut down on the whole…overindulgence issue.
I loved this booth as a whole so much and will most definitely be back.
But for now?
Morocco? Check!!
