#HalfwayToTheHolidays – What’s in Store for the Holiday Season in Walt Disney World

We’re #HalfwayToTheHolidays this week and Disney is doing its part as always by dropping ALL of the holiday info on us this morning!! So let’s dig in and see what’s in store so far…

Christmas in Magic Kingdom

We’ll get decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. and holiday projections on Cinderella Castle – alternating periodically with the castle’s transformation into a Beacon of Magic for the 50th Anniversary. As such it sounds like we’re *not* getting the dream lights again…but that seemed like a given in light of all of the 50th decorations that are on it right now.

We’ll also get “Disney Very Merriest After Hours” – a new special-ticketed event that will debut on November 8th before all the rest of the fun begins. These After Hours (sounding similar to what they’re doing for Halloween) will be available on select nights through December 21st. They will last 4 whole hours (!!!) and will include “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks,” Disney characters throughout the park (no word on meet and greets yet, of course), holiday music and décor, treats that are included in the price, and lots more! Tickets will be very limited, so get them when you can when they become available. Like other After Hours events, they’ll be after regular park operating hours with lower wait times than usual. Tickets will go on sale next month, with an early purchase window available to guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Christmas in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Sunset Seasons Greetings will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios – including holiday projections on the Tower of Terror on Sunset Boulevard. Like the castle, this holiday show will also alternate with the Tower’s nightly transformation into a Beacon of Magic.

We’ll see cavalcades, too! Santa himself will bring some North Pole cheer to a motorcade down Hollywood Boulevard.

“For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” will also feature a festive finale featuring Olaf. Minnie Mouse is also returning to host her festive meal at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Minnie and her friends will be donning their holiday best – even Santa Goofy will be there! (This sounds so cute…) And throughout the season, as always, vintage-themed holiday décor will shine bright across the park.

Christmas in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

(I miss when Tyson used to pose like this…)

It will be a wild holiday time!! We’ll get our seasonal décor and festive Disney character flotillas sailing down Discovery River to the sounds of joyful songs of the season. The Tree of Life will also become another Beacon of Magic most nights during the 50th anniversary celebration – mixed with projected nature-inspired holiday scenes.

Christmas in Disney Springs

Disney Springs will be transformed into a winter wonderland, full of sparkling lights, enchanting décor and holiday surprises. We’ll get the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll again too – and it might even include some 50th anniversary inspired decorations this time around….

And snope. We get snope back, too!!

Christmas at Jock’s

And of course themed food and beverages…..and the yearly transformation of Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar. If you’ve missed this in the past absolutely check it out this time around. They go all out and it’s always amazing.

Christmas at Disney’s Resort Hotels

Disney’s resorts will be decked for the holidays, with our beloved iconic trees and other seasonal touches. But most excitingly – we get gingerbread back again!! Curious about the amazing things that Disney does with gingerbread…and just how they tie into helping out our bee neighbors?? Check out these posts right HERE and HERE!!

Christmas in EPCOT

The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will return this year, from Nov. 26 – Dec. 30, with Holiday Kitchens around the park, performances by Voices of Liberty, the guest favorite Cookie Stroll and more!

We have so so much to look forward to later this year!!! So make sure you stay on that nice list and stay tuned as more and more information is released!!
