We all know I love Walt Disney World. But some of my most incredible experiences down here in central Florida are off that beaten path and in the most unexpected places. I love finding new adventures for my own family and all of you – whether you’re a local looking for something new or a visitor looking for something a little different for one day of your trip.
All of this is why I was THRILLED when Experience Kissimmee and Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures were kind enough to invite me on my very first airboat ride at sunset tonight!!
Boggy Creek is in Kissimmee, about 45 minutes from Walt Disney World on Lake Tohopekaliga.
As soon as you arrive you’re sort of overtaken by peace. It feels so remote – a million miles from any theme park.
There are a variety of airboat ride options – from the sunset tour that we did to shorter daytime tours to VIP packages to outings were you drive the boat yourself!! You can find the full rundown on their site right HERE.
Aside from the airboats you’ll find lots of other activities – like incredible presentations by the Native American Big Little Family on primitive living, baby gator areas (in partnership with Gatorland), a tiki bar, a lakeside park, and fossil and gem mining.
But the airboat ride itself is such a special experience. The water was as still as glass and teaming with wildlife. Our captain set us up for gorgeous pictures. And the sunset was like a dream. I truly cannot wait to get back here with my kids. They would go crazy for it.
Oh…and the BBQ inside?? O. M. G. The brisket nachos were to die for. And gator bites just might be better than chicken. :b
I’ll be back for the airboats and I’ll stay (again) for the rest. You guys know I always keep it real and this was FAN-Tastic.
