Walt Disney World and A Gift For Teaching Team Up to Help Orange County Teachers

As a new wave of 16,000 students opt to return to classrooms throughout Orange County this week, Walt Disney World Resort teamed up with A Gift For Teaching to provide much needed supplies to teachers, donating nearly 5,000 reusable bags and nearly 8,000 lanyards for students to hold their masks – along with 43 pallets of various Disney merchandise items to be used as classroom incentives and prizes. (How amazing would it be to win THAT in the classroom??)

All of these donated items help A Gift For Teaching’s new curbside supply pickup option that allows teachers to place a supply order online and have a contactless pickup experience from the comfort and safety of their own cars.

And the help didn’t stop with Orange County. Disney also donated more than 100,000 reusable bags, thousands of water bottles and lanyards, and other back-to-school school essentials like backpacks and incentive items to other schools and organizations in Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

This isn’t the first time Disney has teamed up with this amazing organization. Walt Disney World Resort and A Gift For Teaching have been working together for the past two decades to help make a difference in Central Florida schools.

I love this story so much. It’s easy to forget, with its international presence, that Disney is very very much a member of this community. It means so much during these tough times to see them reaching out to make our kids’ and teachers’ school years better.
