Early Theme Park Entry to Replace Extra Magic Hours

Later this year as part of Disney’s 50th anniversary celebration, Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels will be able to enter the parks 30-minutes early. This will apply to every theme park every day.

The Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and will not be returning. As Disney explains, the new early theme park entry benefit helps them to better spread visitation across all four theme parks, while providing added flexibility by giving guests extra early park time on each day of their vacation and in the park of their choosing.

This generally makes a lot of sense to me – particularly in light of needing to spread out crowds across parks, since crowds tended to be much higher at whatever park was offering EMH each day. Local also aren’t generally rope dropping parks…so let visiting guests enjoy some extra time at the park of their choice each morning.
