Today we head over to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa and Disney Springs for some of the best distance you can get on property.

  • Location: All around Saratoga Springs Resort – down the path by the water overlooking Disney Springs and then looping around the resort, often around its large lakes – then adding Disney Springs (see the map below for a breakaway of that portion) for more mileage if you’d like if it’s open for running when you’re there.

This isn’t necessarily a go to trail for me simply because it’s a bit off the beaten path and not as over the top themed as some Disney resorts – but truth told it’s a great place to get some real mileage and generally just a very relaxing place to be at any time of year.

  • Distance: About 1.6 miles doing a large loop around Saratoga Springs – easily more if you want to loop around a bit more on resort property. Depending on the time of day, you can often also add a loop across Disney Springs and back for about 1.8 more miles. So a total of about 3.4 miles looping once around Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs, with the potential for much more if you want to spend more time at Saratoga Springs.

This is one of the few places where I really do look at the resort running map to get a sense of where they suggest we go – in large part because the size of the resort is so overwhelming, which isn’t a bad thing when you want some real miles under your feet.

But the map isn’t necessary. You can just start on the water overlooking Disney Springs, work your way down to the gazebo at the end, and then loop around the resort and its lakes.

When you find yourself back on the water overlooking Disney Springs, you can often take the bridge that connects Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs and run out (if you went the whole way you’d end at the new NBA Experience and Cirque du Soleil building) and back again.

  • Pro Hack: As always, bring water and wear sunblock. But it’s also worth mentioning that you’ll find a decent amount of shade at Saratoga Springs as compared to other on property runs, and the number of lakes at Saratoga Springs seems to cut the heat a bit. Also, you’ll find bathrooms at Disney Springs as well as a few water fountains along your path to refill your stores.

  • Fun Fact: Saratoga Springs is themed to horse racing, so the running trail is marked in furlongs. One furlong in horse racing is equal to 220 yards, or 0.125 miles.
